While she has just turned the page on mountain biking, Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt confirmed on Thursday her participation in the next Tour de France.
She talked about it a few months ago, she confirmed it this Thursday. Olympic mountain bike champion and dominator in the discipline for many years, Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt has chosen to turn a page in her career and move to road Cycling. Engaged within the Visma-Lease a bike team, the thirty-two-year-old rider confirmed that she would be at the start of the 2025 Women's Tour de France.
In an interview published today by The TeamPauline Ferrand-Prévôt gave a little more detail on the reason for her decision to leave mountain biking. “I decided to return to the road because last winter, I wondered 'what would I do after the Olympics?' […] I was done with mountain biking, but I wasn't tired of cycling at all. So it was the right time for me (…) to open a new page in my career. »
Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt wants the Tour
And the Frenchwoman announces the color for the future:
“I want to be the best possible to try to win the Tour. This is the main objective. […] I know that I am capable of being competitive at a high level on the road. » If she did not want to reveal what her calendar will be in 2025, Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt reiterated her initial desire: “I will do the Tour de France. If I am selected. »
We will have to wait until mid-January to find out more about the French champion's preparatory program and know the races in which she will take part before this meeting which she is waiting for more than anything.
