The general assembly of Couserans Cycliste Pyrénées took place in the presence of Patricia Marrot, representative of the municipality, and Sylvain Dumas, responsible for sports at the community of communes. The sporting results for the year 2024 are laudatory: the club has 86 members, including 42 young people. He records a total of 70 victories, from the youngest to the seniors, on the road, mountain bike and cyclo-cross, with 5 Occitanie champions and one French champion.
There are many projects for 2025. The youth course, on the road and on mountain bikes, will take place in Playa de Aro, from February 22 to 26, in partnership with the juniors from Stade Toulousain Cyclisme, where four Couseran residents are licensed. The adult course is scheduled from April 22 to 27 in San Felieu de Guixol. The Couserans Cycliste Pyrénées will organize, in April, the Coupe d'Occitanie VTT in Saint-Lizier, a road race for seniors and a hike-raid in Castillon. The exact dates remain to be defined. Road runners will participate in regional races, national and regional championships and the French Cups.
For cyclists, five events are planned, including the famous Quebrantahuesos, a cross-border event which takes place in Sabiñánigo, in Aragon.
The treasurer, Jean Servant, presented a balanced report, approved by the assembly. The office was renewed with two co-presidents, Didier Carre and Thierry Ducos. Yvette Tournou is secretary and Jean Servant, treasurer.
