The 3rd edition of the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium saw the farewell to the competition of a Cycling legend. With 165 successes among the pros, including 55 on the grand tours, Mark Cavendish competed this Sunday in the final race of his career, at the age of 39, and the Briton bowed out in the most beautiful way, by claiming victory over the finish line drawn in the heart of Esplanade Park, a stone's throw from the National Gallery of Singapore.

Wearing bib 35, like his number of stages gleaned from the Tour de France, an absolute record that he holds alone ahead of Eddy Merckx since his victory in Saint-Vulbas on July 3, the rider from Astana Qazaqstan Team dominated in the sprint two other immense specialists in massive packaging, Jasper Philipsen and Arnaud De Lie, while the green jersey Biniam Girmay won the points classification and Thomas De Gendt the prize for combativeness.
