The season was really average for Groupama – FDJ in terms of results, but also in terms of emotions. And finally, it was enough to follow the thoughts of the most loyal fans of the clover team to realize throughout the season that the dominant feeling was frustration. Frustration often at not seeing the men of Marc Madiot be participants in the races in which they participated.
However, not everything is negative, far from it. And the general feeling is perhaps also linked to the loss of certain gems of the team, including Laurence Pithie and Lenny Martinez. Departures which did not necessarily go down very well with the supporters. Particularly because they highlighted a rather cruel reality, their core team simply did not have the financial weapons to retain their talents.
Among the satisfactions, we will inevitably note Stefan Kung, always consistent, and capable of winning in the World Tour. All without forgetting Valentin Madouas' podium at the Olympics, or even Romain Grégoire's victory during the Tour of the Basque Country.
