Lunch Ride | Alex Rudeau: becoming the first world champion in history ⋆ Vojo

New guest on the Lunch Ride podcast: Alex Rudeau, the very first world champion in the history of enduro mountain biking. In 2024, the Frenchman won the rainbow jersey in Canazeï, characteristic of all the major cycling disciplines. With Alex Rudeau, we obviously talk about the World Championships that he won, but also about his training and his choice of flat pedals. 2025 will paradoxically be a pivotal year for enduro and Alex Rudeau shares his perspectives with us.

2024 is historic with a first world championship inscribed in the history of sport, and particularly French sport with 4 French victories: Isabeau Courdurier, Alex Rudeau in enduro and Estelle Charles and Kevin Miquel in e-enduro. However, the season will also be marked by the cessation of several leading teams, including the Commencal Enduro Project which brought Alex Rudeau to the highest level.

The sport attracts, but does not necessarily generate revenue in the midst of a crisis in the cycle industry. Alex Rudeau’s message remains positive: there is room for great events and he will have a busy schedule in 2025.

Alex Rudeau looks back in detail on his Canazeï race and the emotions that went through him all day, until crossing the finish line in front of his family and friends.

He talks to us at length about his training and his daring choice to leave his trainer during the season in favor of… an application! Far from being a decision made on a whim, Alex presents to us the interests for his performance.

Fun fact: the appointment for this podcast was made at the Roc d’Azur, right next to Jérôme Clementz who also wrote his name in the history of sport, since in 2013 he won the general classification of the very first season of the EWS, the enduro world cups (now EDR).
