Kigali 2025: The routes revealed – News

The routes for the 2025 Road World Championship were presented this Thursday in Zurich, on the sidelines of the World Championship. The races will take place in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Elite race will offer two loops. The first will be a 13.6 km circuit, which will take the coast of the Golf of Kigali (800 meters at 8.1%) and that of Kimihurua (1.3 km at 6.3%), to be covered nine times before take a large loop of 42 kilometers which will pass once through the Kigali Wall (400 meters at 11%). After this loop, six laps of the 13.6 km circuit will still have to be covered before the finish. The total distance will be 267.5 km with an elevation gain of 5,475 meters.

On the other hand, the Elite Women’s race will only take the 15.1 km circuit, for a total of 164.6 km and 3,350 meters of elevation gain. All other online races will take place on this circuit.

The Elite time trials, Men and Women, will take place on a hilly course with a bumpy finish. For the first time, the Women’s Hopes titles will be contested in separate races, against the clock and for the road race.
