Cycling. Road – World Championships – The French repeat a hat-trick in C4, Le Rousseau takes the title

The C4 category belongs entirely to the French during these 2024 Para-cycling Road World Championships. Monday, Mattis Lebeau, Kevin Le Cunff And Gatien Le Rousseau offered a fantastic hat-trick to the French clan in the time trial… and they did it again, 72 hours later, in the road race! Truly alone in the world during the 90.9 kilometers that had to be covered – the fourth, the Pole Bartlomiej Bertolinfinished more than 8 minutes behind – the Blues put on a real demonstration, and it was together that they arrived for the win.

No sprint for the title, Gatien Le Rousseau designated to win

It remained to be seen whether they would play for victory on the pedals or whether they would decide the order of the podium, and it was finally the second solution that was chosen. Never crowned world champion on the road, unlike Kevin Le Cunff (right in the photo) and Mattis Lebeau (left in the photo), Gatien Le Rousseau had the honour of crossing the finish line first and thus, at the age of 21, wears the rainbow jersey. Titled on the time trial, Lebeau takes second place, while The Cunffthe two-time defending champion, won the bronze medal. These three medals come after the two obtained this Thursday morning by Florian Jouannysecond in H2, and Anaïs Vincentthird in H3.
