For the first time in her career, the world’s best sprinter, Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) will participate in the World Championships on the track. The Dutchwoman will be present in Denmark, for the Ballerup World Championships from October 16 to 20, 2024. The 25-year-old runner will compete in the Scratch event. An event she knows well since she is already a three-time national champion of the discipline (2019, 2022 and 2023). In 2022, she was even a five-time Dutch champion (Scratch, points race, omnium, American and elimination race).

The Dutch and Lorena Wiebes queens of Europe! Virtually unbeatable since 2016 and the 1st edition of the online race of European ChampionshipsL‘Batavian armada offered a collective recital in the Belgian Limburg, locking down the race wonderfully to secure a eighth title in nine years through the sprinter of the Team SD Worx-Protime. Harassed by the Belgians, the French and the Spanish on the circuit with some difficulties, the riders in orange jerseys perfectly controlled all the attempts and discouraged one by one all the attackers. At the end of a scenario without suspense or great flights, it was therefore logically a mass sprint that concluded this day.
