Cameroon was satisfied with the bare minimum by winning 1-0 against Namibia this Saturday, September 7, during the first day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. A victory, good to take in these moments of extreme tension between the Federation led by Samuel Eto’o and the Ministry of Sports, support of coach Marc Brys.

The 3,000 spectators at the Roumdé Adjia Omnisports Stadium in Garoua must have thought that the pre-match of this Cameroon-Namibia match was much more exciting than the match itself. So much so, boredom took over the pitch in this face-off between the Indomitable Lions and the Brave Warriors, while the pre-match between Fecafoot and the Ministry of Sports once again kept all the promises in terms of suspense.

Coming back to the match, the Indomitables had a lot of trouble overcoming the Namibians who had beaten them in their last confrontation 18 months ago. After a first half of quality as poor as the Garoua pitch, the Cameroonians found the opening thanks to the inevitable Vincent Aboubakar (65th), invisible since the start of the match. Two minutes before, it was André Onana who had to work hard to save his team with a great save after a big shot from 25 meters by Prins Tjiueza. Cameroonian chances can be counted on the fingers of one hand, yet Vincent Aboubakar had the opportunity to offer himself a double, but the Besiktas (Turkey) striker missed his one-on-one with Edward Maova.
