How much does the Parisian fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower cost?

With July 14, comes the period of fireworks. They are drawn from any point of the territory. The average price of a firework is 2,000 euros, indicates BFMTV. But these prices vary according to the municipalities and the shooting location chosen. Thus, it costs between 8,000 and 10,000 euros on the beaches of the Mediterranean and more than 10,000 euros in the region. But it is even more expensive in the big cities of the country. The most anticipated of all, that of the City of Paris cost, in 2021, 600,000 euros according to Release.

That year, the price of the fireworks had been reduced by 100,000 euros. “The call for tenders mentioned a duration of only twenty minutes, for around 100,000 euros less than the other editions”, specified David Proteau artistic director at Ruggieri, the event company which had won the call for tenders for the City of Paris for 2021. Indeed, in 2017, the cost of the fireworks was estimated at 750,000 euros for 35 minutes, specified The world. Of this budget of 600,000 euros, only half concerned the rockets used by the pyrotechnic show, specifies the pyrotechnician. The biggest cost of the service concerns the payroll.

As many fireworks as before Covid-19

For pyrotechnic professionals, July 14 is a time not to be missed. “It’s 60% of turnover. It is the only time of the year during which we resume our brands with a number of services almost identical to that of before-Covid ”, explained to BFMTV Frédéric Bouty, manager of the company Régie Fête Pyrotechnie (Pas- of ). The sector intends to recover. He had lost “90% of his turnover in 2020” and “45% in 2021”, specified Bernard Deom, president of the Union of pyrotechnics for show and entertainment (SPSD).

The number of fires set during July 14, 2023 should be close to the year 2019, before Covid. But the artificers are worried. They are experiencing supply difficulties and the cost of raw materials has increased by 10 to 15%, when transport has been “multiplied by 3 or 4”, according to Bernard Deom. These increases will be passed on to customers, namely the municipalities. The price of fireworks is expected to increase by 15-20% this summer.

In addition, some events have been banned due to weather conditions. This is the case in several towns in the Bouches-du-Rhône to limit the risk of fires.
