Sending Covid testing machines for his personal use, 7 calls since his electoral defeat… These explosive links that Trump and Putin have maintained and hidden

Bob Woodward, the man who revealed the Watergate scandal, publishes an explosive book on Trump, Putin but also Biden and Harris…

War, Bob Woodward’s new book, will not be released until October 15, but extracts have been revealed in recent hours by CNN and the Washington Post, the newspaper in which the famous journalist revealed the Watergate scandal. Scandal over the financing of the Republican Party which cost Richard Nixon his post as President of the United States.

Woodward’s new book is an intimate account from the highest levels of government in one of the most troubled times in recent history. And the American journalist, winner of several Pulitzer Prizes, makes explosive revelations.

Among them, these little-known links between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. If the former US president seems to have distanced himself from the Russian leader and is trying to distance himself from him, Woodward says they are not that rare.

Thus, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Trump allegedly had a set of Abbott Point of Care Covid testing machines sent “secretly to Putin for his personal use”.

Isolated during the pandemic due to strong fear of the virus, the Russian president asked Trump to remain discreet about this shipment during a telephone call. “Please don’t tell anyone you sent them to me,” Putin told Trump, according to Woodward.

“I don’t care,” Trump replied in his usually rebellious tone. “No, no,” Putin replied. “I don’t want you to tell anyone, because people will get mad at you, not me. They don’t care about me.”

Trump’s entourage has since denied these claims to ABC News as well as other revelations about the ties maintained between the two presidents well after Trump left the White House.

“Say what he has to say to Putin”

Woodward recounts a moment when Trump told an aide to leave a room at his Mar-o-Lago residence “so he can say what he has to say in a private phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

“According to Trump’s aide, there have been several phone calls between Trump and Putin, perhaps as many as seven, since Trump left the White House in 2021,” Woodward further asserts in his book “War.”

The latter assures that Biden’s director of national intelligence, Avril Haines, “cautiously dodged” the question when the journalist asked her if there had been calls between Trump and Putin after the presidency.

“I don’t pretend to be privy to every contact with Putin. I don’t pretend to speak about what President Trump may or may not have done,” Haines was quoted as saying.

This Wednesday, October 9, the Kremlin denied all of Woodward’s assertions.

Officially, Donald Trump assures that he is capable of ending the war in Ukraine upon his return to the White House and claims not to have been in contact with Putin on the subject.
