In an interview given to New York TimesAl Pacino returned to the health crisis that paralyzed the world in 2020.
The actor also says he contracted a serious form of Covid-19 that year: “ I had a fever and was dehydrated. I called a nurse to help me. » But Al Pacino felt unwell while waiting for help: “ I was at home and I died. Really. I no longer had a pulse. »
Fortunately, help arrived quickly: “ I had six first responders in my living room and two doctors. They were dressed as if they came from the depths of the galaxy. It was very disturbing to open my eyes and see this. Everyone was surrounding me and saying, ‘He’s come to his senses. He’s alive.’ »
He further adds: “ I didn’t see any white light. There is nothing. Hamlet said ‘to be or not to be’ (…) And there was nothing. I was just gone. I never thought about it before in my life. »
The 84-year-old actor concludes with humor: “ You know the actors. It always feels good to say that you’ve died once! ».
Al Pacino will release his memoirs on October 18.
