It’s all in the title: “The Case is in the Bag”. Marion Ciofolo set up his micro-enterprise and gave it the appropriate name. She makes leather bags and sells them for between 25 and 45 euros, depending on the size and material. And it is indeed a bargain given the prices charged. This resident of Condé-sur-Risle (Your) launched this second activity after initiating a professional retraining at the age of 41, duringCovid-19 epidemic. For several months, she learned the basics of leather goods in a company luxe installed at Lisieux. Today, she creates her own models. “I would very much like to make a living from it, but it is first and foremost the pleasure of creating that drives me,” she confides.
Unique and customizable
His creations are only leather goods accessories: bags, pouches, fanny packs, leather, imitation leather or suede cases. “It’s a noble material but it comes at a price. Not everyone can afford it, that’s why I use all variations of leather,” explains Marion.
The Euroise works in a caravan converted into a workshop. This is where she imagines her models. “I rarely do the same thing twice, it’s unique and can be personalized. » And Marion almost creates collections: “I regularly change the models so that people don’t get bored,” she claims.
One bag is at least four hours. Marion begins by making a pattern which she tests. “There are sometimes failures but that’s part of creation. » Once the pieces are cut out, comes the assembly, Marion’s favorite part. You have to take your time, it takes a long time. Finally, the finishing touches are done by hand using saddle stitch sewing.
The resident of Condé-sur-Risle, who also has sewing skills, teaches it once a month in Trouville-la-Haule at the Auberge des Loisirs (06 83 27 46 42). Marion Ciofolo will be present at the Lieurey Christmas market on November 24 and in Saint-Philbert-sur-Risle on December 14.
