Interior design booming in Indre-et-

Contemporary, Art Deco, minimalist or even Scandinavian, in terms of interior decoration, everyone has their own moods. In recent years, and particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic, the French have been giving more and more importance to their interior, and more and more people are embarking on the adventure of design.

Some work themselves but many call on a professional. “The interior designer can completely remodel the space, for example by partitioning, while the decorator is more interested in the choice of materials, colors or textiles”explains Olivia de Kertel, architect and interior designer in Faye-la-Vineuse. “Our goal is to provide solutions that our customers would not have thought of”specifies Daisy Gadaut Talbert, interior designer based in Saint-Cyr-sur- under the name Daisy D Déco.

More and more professionals

In Touraine, the market is flourishing. Customers are multiplying, as are professionals. “The market has been tense for a little over a year. I think that the economic context and the arrival of a lot of competition play an important role. It is a popular and unregulated profession. Everyone can get started, even without a diploma”says Daisy Gadaut Talbert. “When I started, in 2020, there must have been three or four of us in . Now I think there are around twenty or thirty of us”specifies Gaëlle Boitard-Renouvel, interior designer and real estate agent.

Interior designers and architects are most often self-employed. “I used to work in the metallurgical industry. I was on the verge of burnout when I decided to take the lead and train myself. I wanted independence and to be able to manage my schedule to enjoy my son”explains Daisy Gadaut Talbert. Others, like Mathilde Huygues Despointes, interior designer between Tours and , began their career as an employee before creating their business. “It is the freedom that is offered to us”she rejoices.

Diversity and originality, keys to success

To stand out, each professional innovates and tries to imbue his style. Some offer to support their clients in the purchase or sale of a house or apartment, in particular by providing real estate agent services. THE home stagingwhich consists of maximizing the value of a property with a view to its sale or rental, is also developing strongly.

Additional activities, such as running decoration workshops, organized by the professionals themselves or supermarkets such as Leroy Merlin, also allow an interesting and beneficial variation of the activity.

Word of mouth remains the main weapon of communication, as Mathilde Huyghues Despointes states: “Our best advertising is our customers. »
