“We will have other choices than TNT,” Hanouna proclaims on the C8 channel

“We will have other choices than TNT, just after February,” declared presenter Cyril Hanouna for his fanfare return to C8 on Monday, six months before the disappearance of the channel whose frequency has not been renewed.

The audiovisual regulator, Arcom, decided in July not to renew the frequency of C8 after February 28, 2025, which has accumulated 7.6 million euros in fines over eight years for the excesses of its star presenter.

“Arcom can persecute us, I don’t care if the public loves me,” intoned Cyril Hanouna on air, made up as Celine Dion for a parody of the Olympic opening ceremony, to the tune of “L’hymne à l’amour”, a standard by Edith Piaf.

“We will have other choices than TNT, just after February. Without Arcom, no more problems, my audience, do you think we love each other?”, he continued, before joining the set of his show “Touche pas à mon poste” (TPMP) on a motorbike live, under the eyes of sports journalist Nelson Monfort, to light a cauldron.

The presenter arrived from the studios of Europe 1, where he continues to present the daily programme “On marche sur la tête” (4 p.m.-6 p.m.), tested during the legislative campaign.

The fate of TPMP remains uncertain: if the program does not land on another channel of the Canal+ group, could it migrate to the web?

Cyril Hanouna was not more specific. He was initially scheduled to be interviewed on Monday by CNews journalist Laurence Ferrari, another media figure of conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré, but he preferred to answer viewers’ questions.
