On Thursday, September 12, Édouard Philippe welcomed Emmanuel Macron to Le Havre for the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Normandy city. The two men had met recently, at the end of August, during the consultations for Matignon at the Élysée. But in the meantime, Édouard Philippe declared himself a candidate for the 2027 presidential election in the columns of Le Point, even saying he was ready in the event of an early election.
