What’s new, design, price, colors… What will Apple’s new smartphone look like?

This is the annual event not to be missed for fans of the Cupertino company. This Monday, September 9, Apple is back to school by holding its traditional conference to present its new iPhone. A Keynote that will be broadcast from 7 p.m. on the various sites and platforms of the brand with the apple, and which will be an opportunity to discover the new features of the iPhone 16. But what should we expect at the start of the evening?

A smartphone with the “world’s thinnest” bezels?

When it comes to the design of its phones, Apple is not the type to shake up its users’ habits from one year to the next. Last year, the Apple brand had nevertheless imposed some changes, including a USB-C port, the Dynamic Island on the entire range released in 2023 and the “action” button on the Pro models. This year, Apple should further reduce the thickness of the borders around the screens of its future iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

According to Ice Universe, a well-known Chinese leaker in the industry, the Cupertino firm will offer the “smartphone with the thinnest edges in the world” to integrate an even larger screen without sacrificing anything, reports Phonandroid. Owners of this technological gem will thus benefit from a 6.3-inch screen on the iPhone 16 Pro compared to 6.1 inches for the one released in 2023. The “action” button will normally be present on the entire range and not just the Pro max model.

Changes are also expected on the back of the smartphones. “On the back of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, the two camera lenses would also be aligned vertically, while they are installed in a staggered fashion on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus,” adds the website iPhone.fr.

Those who like smartphones with bright colors will be served. According to the latest leaks on social networks, the iPhone 16 would be available in five colors: blue, pink, white, black and green. The announced colors would be much brighter than other years.

For its Pro range, Apple is reportedly planning to release four colours: white, black, grey and… brown. Named “Desert Titanium” by the American company, this colour is likely to get people talking.

For nearly ten years, Apple has been following the same ritual when it comes to revealing its new babies to the world. There is no reason why it should not change its habits this year. With a presentation scheduled for September 9, the new iPhones should be launched for pre-order on Friday, September 13 before arriving in stores the following Friday, September 20.

Apple surprised everyone a year ago by displaying lower prices compared to the iPhone 14. Should we expect the same this year? It’s hard to say since the American company keeps its price list secret until the end and few people predict the right price of the iPhone in advance. Last year, the starting prices ranged from €969 (iPhone 15, 128 GB) to €1,979 (iPhone 15 Pro Max, 1 TB). Barring any surprises, the price list will be roughly the same this year.
