Second episode of our series on the leading countries of the Paralympic Games. And in the ranking, there is China and the others. Since 2004, the country has been in first place on the podium and now systematically exceeds 200 medals, almost twice as many as Great Britain, 2nd in the ranking in Tokyo in 2021. This year in Paris, the hierarchy is not upset, quite the contrary. The Chinese team, which for example makes a raid in table tennis, leaves only crumbs to its opponents.

This article is the second in a series on the leading countries of Paralympic Games.

With a red flag and yellow stars in her hands, Dela Wang gives her voice to encourage Keli Liao, who has had one arm amputated, and Shuo Yan, who is on crutches. This saleswoman left China for Paris six years ago, when she was studying: ” The players need our support, they are tenacious and we know their story. They have had to overcome the obstacles they have faced. »

Obstacles easily overcome by the Chinese pair, who left with the gold medal, the 7th in para-table tennis. China has invested a lot in sport and there, we do sport every day. The country sets itself a goal, invests and gives itself the means… And I am well surrounded by my compatriots », trust Dela Wang.

Coming back with titles should not be a problem for China, which hopes to pass the 100 gold medal mark at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
