TRANSPORT – The Paris 2024 Games break ended on Sunday evening, September 9, when Paralympic boccia champion Aurélie Aubert extinguished the flame. After several weeks of upheaval in the capital, public transport should almost return to normal, including ticket prices.

The Closure of Metro Line 14 Is a Nightmare Come True for Parisians, Here’s Why

Since July 20, the price of the T+ metro ticket has increased, from €2.15 to €4. The same goes for a book of ten tickets: €32 during the Olympics, compared to €17.35 normally. But the RATP indicates on its website that from this Monday, September 9, the T+ ticket will return to the initial price of €2.15. The same goes for the Orly Bus, which had gone from €10.30 to €16 during the Olympics.

It will also once again be possible to purchase the Navigo week pass, the Day pass and the Visit pass. These three options had been suspended during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This increase had therefore mainly affected occasional users of Parisian public transport, as the price of the classic Navigo pass did not increase.

Most stations reopened

On the practical side, most of the metro stations closed during the Olympics, such as Champs-Élysées Clémenceau on lines 1 and 13, are open again this Monday. On the T2 tramway line, the Porte d’Issy and Porte de Versailles stations were closed until Sunday, September 8, but it is now possible to use them again. The only exception: the Concorde station on line 12, as relayed by BFMTVIt will not reopen until August 22, in order to dismantle the competition site, but remains accessible on lines 1 and 8.

The start of the school year also marks the return of modernization work on certain lines. This is particularly the case for line 14. From September 9 to December 19, from Monday to Thursday from 10 p.m., traffic will be interrupted on the entire line, and all day on Sundays September 15 and 29, October 13, and November 17 and 24. On the RER E, numerous traffic interruptions are also to be expected.
