More than 750 beneficiaries of a multidisciplinary medical caravan in Taza

More than 750 people benefited from the services of a multidisciplinary medical caravan organized on Thursday in the commune of Bouiblane (province of Taza), at the initiative of the Provincial Human Development Committee.

This caravan, organized in partnership with the provincial delegation of Health and Social Protection in Taza and in coordination with the commune of Bouiblane and the local authorities, intervenes within the framework of the emergency measures taken in execution of high royal instructions aimed at to provide the necessary care to populations in areas affected by the cold wave.

It is also part of the medical caravan program of operation “Riaya 2024-2025” and the provincial plan aimed at mitigating the effects of the cold snap and snowfall during winter.

The services of the caravan, organized as part of a series of health and awareness campaigns on maternal and child health, included consultations and medical examinations in several specialties, including general medicine (72 beneficiaries), gynecology obstetrics (48 beneficiaries, including 13 pregnant women who received ultrasounds), and pediatrics (43).

Aiming to bring health care closer to women and children in rural areas, the caravan also included early screenings for breast cancer (33 beneficiaries) and cervical cancer (26 beneficiaries), with referral of 3 cases to the Reproductive Health Center.

In addition, 87 people were screened for high blood pressure and 44 for diabetes, while 78 children benefited from a catch-up vaccination operation and 8 others were vaccinated against measles.

In addition to medical consultations, the caravan made it possible to distribute free medicines worth 50,000 dirhams, thus helping to relieve the medical needs of residents.

In the same context, batches of food and blankets were given to the rural population affected by the cold snap in the commune of Bouiblane. This operation, supervised by local authorities, benefited a total of 496 people.

In a statement to MAP, Azeddine Loukili, head of the Social Action Division in the province of Taza, indicated that this caravan is part of the medical and social support for residents of douars affected by the cold spell and heavy snowfall in the town of Bouiblane, known for its harsh climate and heavy snowfall.

The operation to distribute food aid and blankets for rural populations affected by the cold wave, which began Wednesday in the commune of Maghraoua, benefits the inhabitants of 9 rural communes in the province of Taza, known for their extremely high temperatures. low at this time of year.
