Comedian Pablo Mira looks back on the 90s, his “decade of the heart”, this Thursday evening at the Palais d’Auron

Pablo Mira was a soldier when he was young. This has nothing to do with his job as a comedian, which he continues to do on the show Quotidien, on TMC, as a front man twice a week.

From Gorafi to then to the stage

Tonight, the public will see all of him with his legs knitting on stage. Social media enthusiasts have already read the findings of the parody account Le Gorafi. Hundreds of articles made to make you laugh with a touch of reflection running on X (formerly Twitter).

Pablo Mira started on TV with the section Le Gorafi during the Grand Journal, on Canal +, presented by Antoine de Caunes. It will then be Quotidien, on TMC. First the Haters Press Review tablet then 4 minutes shower included.

He reacts on the Inter show, If you’re listening, I cancel everything, then By Jupiter?! Before joining Les Grosses Têtes on RTL. The one-man show which will be presented at the Palais d’Auron began at the end of 2023. Needless to say, he has it well in hand. Past simple is a return to the future, destination the 90s that he knew well as a child.

At 37, he offers himself and the public a little nostalgia sequence in this “decade of the heart” as he likes to define it.

“I often cite this decade in my columns”

The comedian was between 5 and 15 years old during this period. “This builds a culture for the future. I wanted to do this show because I often refer to this decade in my reviews, so I might as well go on stage. What changes compared to TV is that you have to inhabit the stage, projecting your energy to the back of the room. I’m touring with this one-man show until June when I will have had 210 performances. It really is a game to make people laugh, especially when it really works. The 90s are pop culture, Club Dorothée, a less complex relationship with technology. On the other hand, the relationship to sex and gender was more complicated. »

“Modern man”

Pablo Mira sticks to the text. “Since Gorafi, I attach a lot of importance to the text, I am not in the oral tradition. At the end of the show, there may be an informal set edge. »

He therefore navigates between TV set and stage. “I like to alternate activities otherwise we get into a routine. You have to find fun areas. »

On the other hand, still no appearance at the cinema. “It takes time for this and my schedule doesn’t allow it. I have zero spaces at the moment. » Still not dad either. “It doesn’t really speak to me, this desire to have a child. The relationship with the birth rate has changed. Last year, it was the lowest in decades. So, I consider myself a modern man on this point. »
