The DJ appeared in several videos with his face transformed on social networks. Cosmetic surgery or publicity stunt? The debate rages.
It all started with videos shared on social networks. One, on TikTok, shows DJ Bob Sinclar on the terrace of a café. Another called “Fitness Vibes” posted on January 13 on Instagram shows the latter in the middle of a sports session. At the end, he addresses the camera: “Naturalness, sport… that’s the only thing that’s true.” Except that in the caption everyone reacts to the artist’s face, visibly remade.
Botox? Cosmetic surgery? Filters? Artificial intelligence? The hypotheses are rife, especially since the DJ also updated his profile photo with a new portrait. “Will you explain to me? Did he have surgery or is it a filter? A massacre…”, “Why did you do that? You were so handsome before”, “Bob Danoff”, “You look like Mickey Rourke”, “It’s Botox Sinclar now”..
Many people think about a cosmetic procedure. Some even make the connection with the musician’s last professional trip to Brazil, a country where a real cult of surgery reigns: “He went to Brazil in December for music…..and something else perhaps!”.
Except that for the majority of the DJ community, none of this is true and Bob Sinclar is having fun. “I think it’s a good joke as he knows how to do it well”, “So I don’t believe it at all! He has a great sense of humor and his phrase “natural is the only thing that’s true” says it all!”, “Prosthesis + make up! It’s just a big prank (hoax in French)!”
For cosmetic surgeon Oren Marco, who also reacted to the DJ’s publications, there is no doubt: “It’s definitely false. But maybe it’s for his promotion.” Indeed, many Internet users are putting forward the hypothesis of a communication operation to promote his next single, scheduled for the end of the month: “Magnifique com’. Eager to know where this takes us? New album?”, “We will know more in a few weeks but many of us think that it is a promotional campaign for his new album or title”…
-He would not be the first to do so since the singer The Week-End had already chosen this option and had made people believe, with the help of prostheses, of a physical metamorphosis in October 2023 via a simple story published to actually promote his new clip. For his part, the Parisian DJ continues to sow doubt in the heads of his community, particularly via enigmatic stories. His last one bringing together lots of atypical faces on the song Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, a clue to be taken with a certain degree of caution.
Another hypothesis that emerges from the comments? This masquerade would above all be a way of parodying his counterpart David Guetta who gave in to the sirens of surgery: “Is this a tackle for Guetta?”, “It’s also to make fun of David Guetta…”
Finally, for others, it would all just be a matter of raising awareness. On the one hand, the dangers of misinformation: “It’s to raise awareness on social networks not to believe everything and it works, well done!” underlines, for example, an Internet user. And the excesses of aesthetic overbidding on the other hand, as underlined by aesthetic doctor Christel Barbé, who relayed the video by sharing a message on the limits of surgery: “Recently, Bob Sinclar made headlines with a transformation deliberately “too much”, reminding us how essential balance is in the quest for aesthetics.”
It remains to be seen whether Bob Sinclar will continue to keep the mystery alive until the release of his next opus, announced for January 31. In any case, his subscribers find that the charade has lasted long enough.
