In “All for One”, only Déborah Lukumuena stands out from this embarrassing film

In this new adaptation of Three musketeers, the story of our hero from Gascony has been somewhat rewritten. Here, she is a Morisco woman. And her name is Sarah. Freed from the hands of an unscrupulous bandit, she offers her saviors – three men named Athos, Porthos and Aramis – to help them in their mission.

Said like that, All for one sounds very juicy, but the reality is a little less so. The third feature film from the Caesarized director touches on some good ideas, including her approach to Muslims in Spain converted to Catholicism or her schoolboy caricature of masculinity. But she gets tangled up in the dialogue, the story and the tone.

In this embarrassing storm, only one actress is sticking her head above water: it’s Déborah Lukumuena. The Porthos she portrays swallows flies, makes fun of his adversaries, stares at women like an old thug, and almost has an orgasm at the sight of a man in tears. We are on the verge of the grotesque. Never below, never above.
