Actor Vincent Lindon seen in the stands of the Saint-Symphorien stadium. It wasn’t to encourage the garnets… but almost. The sports arena served as a setting for the filming of the film, Play with firedirected by Muriel and Delphine Coulin. A more than realistic setting because the scenes were filmed during a Ligue 2 championship match between Metz and . The final meeting of the 2022-2023 season in a stadium filled with 26,000 spectators to validate the rise of the garnets in Ligue 1.

Amidst the chants of the kops of supporters, we can see Vincent Lindon, wearing the garnets scarf with one of his two children. The actor plays the role of a Lorraine railway worker confronted with his eldest son’s identity drift.

Other locations are recognizable in the feature film shot in Lorraine between June 15 and 30, 2023: Metz (courthouse, Center-Pompidou, APM Metz stadium, Schuman hospital), (prison), Uckange (blast furnace) and Audun-le-Tiche (Entr’Pot).

For this role, Vincent Lindon received the best actor award at the Venice Film Festival last September. Play with fire releases in theaters this Wednesday, January 22.

Freely adapted from the novel “What you need at night” by Laurent Petitmangin, the film also stars Benjamin Voisin and Stefan Crepon.
