Television and radio host Faustine Bollaert, emblematic face of programs such as “It begins today” on France 2, “La Boîte à secrets” and “Héros” on RTL, recently elected for the second consecutive time favorite presenter of French in 2024, chose to leave Oise.
For several years, Faustine Bollaert lived in the Oise with her husband, the writer Maxime Chattam, author of numerous bestsellers such as “La Trilogie du Mal” and “L’Autre-Monde”.
The couple had settled with their two children, Abbie (11 years old) and Peter (9 years old), in the prestigious private estate of Lys, located near Chantilly. Nestled in the heart of the forest, this popular area is home to high-end residences offering calm and comfort. A few days ago, Faustine Bollaert announced her intention to move.

A carefully considered move to get closer to Paris
According to our colleagues from Paris Match, Faustine Bollaert and Maxime Chattam made the decision to move to be closer to Paris. During an interview with the magazine on January 16, 2025, the host explained that this choice aimed to balance her personal and professional life: “The daily journey between our house and my professional obligations in Paris cost me several hours a day.“
A “scary” but comfortable house
This decision, although important, had already been under consideration for several months. In May 2024, Faustine confided in an interview: “I want to move closer to Paris, but selling the house, completely changing my life, is not easy. My husband wasn’t necessarily convinced, so we took the time to think about it.“
The host also described their current place of living as being a little isolated: “We live in a large house surrounded by nature, close to a forest which can be a little scary,” she explained with humor on the microphone of Europe 1.
A house with unusual decoration
Their current home, located near Chantilly, does not go unnoticed, particularly because of its atypical decoration. According to the Pure People website, it reflects the dark and fantastic universe of Maxime Chattam’s works. Thus, the house contains surprising objects: an Egyptian mummy, a stuffed crow and a wolf, as well as a human skull.
This residence also has remarkable leisure spaces. A private cinema room, housing an impressive collection of 9,000 DVDs, allows residents to immerse themselves in a unique cinematic universe. Maxime Chattam, a great fan of board games and role-playing games, has also set up an exceptional games room. This includes billiards, table football, arcade machines, musical instruments, as well as entire shelves dedicated to its collection of board games.
-A new stage for Faustine Bollaert and Maxime Chattam
For Faustine Bollaert, this change marks the beginning of a new era: “This move will allow me to adopt a new pace of life and devote more time to my children. Although they never blamed me for my absence, they understand that my work is a source of fulfillment for me.”
A new, safer place for children
A new place of residence which could also reassure the facilitator for the safety of her children. Indeed, Faustine Bollaert, who spent the Christmas holidays with her family in their second home in Brittany, told Paris Match the following comments: “Anyway, Abbie and Peter love nothing more than being here (in Brittany, editor’s note). They are freer there than anywhere else. There, I manage to let them walk alone without being anxious“.
The star host of France Télévision did not give more details on their new place of residence or the date of the move.
