“There is a form of polarization between women and men” – Libération

Greater tolerance for remarks discriminating against women, rise of traditionalist ideology, explosion of the Mazan trial… In its annual report on the state of sexism in France published this Monday, January 20, including Liberation reveals the results in preview, the High Council for Equality between Women and Men (HCE) is once again alarmed by a polarization of young people on equality issues. Based on a study carried out on more than 3,000 people, the report examines the various manifestations of sexism in France and notes a clear worsening of the perception of gender inequalities among young women. Bérangère Couillard was appointed in July 2024 to head the consultative body, after the dismissal of Sylvie Pierre-Brossolette for sexist and racist comments. The former Minister Delegate in charge of Equality between women and men in 2023, returns to Libé on the salient points of the study.
