They are both billions rich. They both soar far above carnal borders and homelands. One is from Hungary, the other from South Africa, and both are American. None of them have any taste for the star system or ostentation. And both are highly intelligent. The similarities end there, because George Soros and Elon Musk are on two wavelengths, two planets even, one could say, completely different.
For decades, George Soros has campaigned for what he calls an “open society.” It is a polite and convenient term to designate the absence of borders, the promotion of societal progressivism, wokism, CCIF Muslims or the decriminalization of drugs. Friend of the American Democrats, a divisive figure who brings together all the national rights of Europe against him, Soros has become a scarecrow. Musk is his exact opposite, his negative. He campaigns for a traditional and technologically advanced society, supports Israel and finances the fight against woke – who he considers to have stolen one of his twelve children, who made a “gender transition” a few years ago, and whom the billionaire considers dead. Musk funds Republicans as much as Soros funds Democrats.
And then, above all, there is a major difference: the modes of action. Everything Soros does is secret, if not hidden, in any case discreet. We only discover his passage or his involvement after the fact. George Soros always favored complex circuits, multi-band shots. Elon Musk shouts what he is going to do and publishes it, several times a day, on social networks. He calls the Prime Minister of Canada a “little girl”, sends those who wrap themselves in shoddy language and shares posts written by accounts that right-thinking describes as “controversial” or “problematic”. Which strategy is best? History will judge. However, these days it seems that it is working in Musk’s favor.
Soros was decorated by Biden with the highest civilian honor in the United States. This is what we could call an honorary Caesar. But at the same time, his star fades. Musk, after having been talked down to by a political-media caste very sure of his victory, receives the allegiances of a Mark Zuckerberg, who waited for the victory of Trump and his orchestra to discover that ultimately, he had not never liked the leftist censorship on Facebook nor its procession of fact-checkers. The direct style and clear sentences published in front of everyone also make it possible to reveal scandals. Musk has just relayed a scandal that took place in 2013 in the United Kingdom: that of Pakistani pedophile gangs. This filthy and “systemic” story had been suppressed by the police and the courts, for fear that they would be accused of racism. All the journalists who had spoken about it so far had been ostracized and incarcerated (like the activist Tommy Robinson, prosecuted for having “defamed” a Syrian refugee). Musk caused such a storm by publishing this on X that the House of Commons has just launched an investigation into the matter. Faced with accusations of interference, MP Guillaume Bigot quoted this impeccable sentence from Giorgia Meloni: “ The interference isn’t Musk, it’s Soros… » It seems that the wind is turning…
