“It’s so absurd”: Meghan Markle and Harry ridiculed, a gesture by the Duchess singled out in Los Angeles

After the serious fires that ravaged Los Angeles, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to go to the scene of the disaster to help the victims. They were also filmed chatting and hugging victims at an evacuation center. Very quickly, this initiative was not well received by certain stars including the actress of Desperate HousewivesJustine Bateman who castigated them on X: “Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. (…) What a disgusting photoshoot they did. Are they surveying the damage? Are they politicians now? (…) They don’t live here, they are tourists. Disaster tourists“.

Journalist Candace Owens, widely followed on YouTube and TikTok, also made fun of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. “They still behave exactly like politicians and I want to show you this very funny clip where we see the mayor of Pasadena facing a journalist who highlights the great help of Meghan Markle on the spot…” she explains. In the video, we hear the presenter talking to the Mayor about Archie and Lilibeth’s parents in a slightly ironic way: “It seemed like they both really wanted to be helpful. I saw Meghan Markle bend down and remove the lid from a plastic trash can“.

Amused, Candace Owens responds: “If you see any plastic trash that needs to be picked up, you can contact your pal Meghan Markle (…) I just want to thank Meghan for doing this. It’s very useful for her to bend down and do that (…) No but seriously, I really enjoyed this interview. It’s so absurd. Nobody cares. Send money, send food, it’s about knowing what these people need. They need donations, a place to live, hotels. That doesn’t mean they don’t do it, I’m sure they maybe do it in the shadows, but I don’t understand this visit“.

Candace Owens also indicated that the release date of the Netflix series With Love, Meghan had finally been postponed (it will be available from March 4 in France). “Meghan, our duchess, has decided to postpone the release of her Netflix series. (…) She felt that it might not be very wise to see her cooking in a mansion owned by one of her friends and inviting people to taste her recipes (…) They thought that maybe it wasn’t the right time“, she laughs. A perhaps wiser decision indeed.
