This deception, facilitated by the use of images generated by artificial intelligence, led Anne to lose nearly 850,000 euros. The affair took on even greater proportions when TF1 broadcast a report Seven to Eight regarding this scam. In this documentary, Anne reveals that she interacted for several months with this fake Brad Pitt. The fraudster established an online relationship with Annepretending to be Brad Pitt. It all started in September 2023 when Anne received a message from the Hollywood actor's alleged mother. The scammer also used fake photos and romantic messages to gain her trust. A year later, the scammer convinced Anne to finance a fake treatment for kidney cancer. Anne lost all of her savings. She ended her marriagebelieving in her relationship with the fake Brad Pitt. This situation has seriously affected its mental healthleading her to several suicide attempts and a psychiatric follow-up.

Anne, who has since been hospitalized in a psychiatric center, received lots of mockery on social media. TF1, at the request of the fiftieth anniversary, decided to withdraw its program. The fraudster was located at Nigeria, operating with a small group. The authorities were informed, but no concrete action was taken.

Brad Pitt's reaction

Brad Pitt (the real one this time) wanted to speak out about this affair which is taking on enormous proportions. Through one of its spokespersons, the 61-year-old actor especially wanted to warn his fans against this type of process, at the microphone of Entertainment Weekly :

It is unfortunate that scammers are taking advantage of fans' strong connection with celebrities. But this case reminds us that we should not respond to unsolicited online requests, especially from actors who do not have a social media presence.
