Czech fighter Jiri Prochazka surprised everyone by arriving at the UFC 311 press conference on Thursday, January 16, without his iconic haircut.
A gesture for a good cause. Opposed to Jamalah Hill this Sunday, January 19 at UFC 311, Czech Jiri Prochazka arrived at the event’s press conference with a shaved head. A very different cut from his “iconic war hairstyle” inspired by the “mongkhon”, this headgear worn by Muay Thai followers.
The Czech fighter explained this by mentioning the story of one of his fans, who suffered from cancer and who sported this cut before losing her hair due to chemotherapy.
-“This cut was inspired by Ashley, a girl who is fighting cancer and will be there for the fight. It’s a way for me to show my solidarity and send good energy,” he declared, before indicating that he would donate $50,000 to an association fighting cancer.
A donation which will be doubled by UFC boss Dana White, who also assured to donate $50,000.
