Suzanne, tell me about your character in the series The Sticky

Valérie Nadeau is a detective who comes to the aid of the region’s police officers after the theft of maple syrup, but also after a murder. She’s paired with Teddy Green, played by Gita Miller, and she’s not exactly happy with this choice of partner. Valérie is attracted to her colleague, but doesn’t find her super intelligent, and she considers her incapable of helping her solve the crime. She is a woman who loves her power and is also a high achiever. She has a passive-aggressive side that was interesting to interpret.

How was your experience on set?

It was really great! I didn’t meet all the actors, but I was impressed every time I was on set. I already really liked the actress Margo Martindale, so I felt very fortunate to share a project with her. A day,
She complimented me on my way of playing and it really warmed my heart, since I highly value her opinion. I also got to see Jamie Lee Curtis carry her role with so much energy and intensity! It was a great experience. With STATI got used to carrying the series and always being present and in the action, but I liked being a little more in the background this time. The majority of my scenes were with my partner, Gita Miller, and we had a lot of fun together.

What exactly is going to happen to your character Emmanuelle St-Cyr in STAT?

Lots of events occur that shake the entire team at Saint-Vincent hospital, but particularly Emmanuelle. She experiences bereavement more difficult than others, but being a doctor, she has to get over it quickly, and it becomes difficult for her to bear. When everything becomes calmer again, something constantly happens that upsets her.

Do you still enjoy playing this character?

It’s a creative space that is extraordinary. I can make Emmanuelle evolve as I see fit, I can ask myself questions and change her perceptions, since we film so often. The author, Marie-Andrée Labbé, really has a lot of imagination! (laughs)

Can we expect to see Emmanuelle for several more years?

At the moment, I’m really enjoying playing this role and the whole hard-working team behind it. I’m not ready to leave this character if they want to keep me a little longer!

How would you summarize your year 2024?

I am very happy. Some truly wonderful events have happened in my
personal life that fulfilled me,
that’s what struck me the most. Otherwise, it was a very lively and active year. Autumn on STAT was quite long, since we shoot from September to December, but this year, the shoots seemed easier to me. I will take a lot of joy from the year 2024!

And what do we wish you for 2025?

That’s a good question. I haven’t thought about it, and yet, I’m still planning! I would like to work more on my physical fitness. In addition to playing in STATI would like to have a character who asks me to perform with my body, an action role. Last summer, I acted in a film in which allowed me to bring out this side, and I really enjoyed it. Developing this side of my game would be a great achievement for 2025! (AB-B.)

Stat switches to weekly mode

On January 9, - announced that the daily STAT will become a weekly show of 24 one-hour episodes starting in fall 2025. On site, Suzanne Clément told us she welcomed this change with enthusiasm. “I loved it, I loved it and it was a ride sick, these three years of daily life. I really liked this roller coaster. I would have continued at the same pace because I’m having a lot of fun. But there’s something exciting about the formula changing; This makes the fire flare up even more. It’s interesting to continue in a different way. It also opens the door a little to other projects, but not that much, because there is not a big difference between a daily and a weekly compared to the shooting days. Being able to play such a character is so rich and it’s really not boring! There is a rock’n’roll side to the series that will remain, even if it becomes a weekly. One thing is certain: I still want to play this character and continue to explore this universe for a fourth season in a different format.” Producer Fabienne Larouche announced that Luc Dionne will act as script-editor of the daily news, which will occupy the time slot of STAT and which will be written by Nadine Bismuth, who notably collaborated on the writing ofIndefensible.
