PocketDol Studio accuses CLOSE YOUR EYES agency of having kidnapped its artists; The police intervene – K-GEN

PocketDol Studio has officially responded to allegations made by UNCORE, the agency that manages “PROJECT 7″'s CLOSE YOUR EYES group, regarding contract violations, and the situation has reached immense proportions.

Recently, UNCORE announced its intention to take legal action against PocketDol Studio, accusing it of having violated the participation contract by programming activities for its artists outside of the group project created following the survival “PROJECT 7”.

The company that manages the group CLOSE YOUR EYES from “PROJECT 7” attacks the agency of two of the group’s members

On January 10, 2025, PocketDol Studio, the agency of two of CLOSE YOUR EYES members, Jeon Minwook (J-Min of BAE173) and Sakurada Kenshin, made serious accusations against UNCORE in a lengthy statement, stating:

” Good morning. I am lawyer Yang Tae Jung of Gwangya Law Firm, the legal representative of PocketDol Studio.

We express our regret regarding UNCORE's statement today, which indicates its intention to take legal action for an agency's alleged breach of contract. BAE173, a group with five years of history, and “PROJECT 7” had signed a previous contract that allows dual activities. PocketDol Studio finds it deeply disturbing and disheartening that “PROJECT 7” suddenly changed its position after the final selection of group members.

UNCORE's statement stated: “All participants and their agencies of 'PROJECT 7' were fully aware that by signing the participation contract, they would not be permitted to engage in activities outside of the group project without prior approval from UNCORE if they were selected as final members of the winning survival group. ” She further accused an agency of having “attempted to organize national and international events which go against the terms of the participation contract and of having unilaterally asserted that their artists would engage in activities with a separate group alongside the group project CLOSE YOUR EYES, causing significant harm not only to the corresponding artists but also to other members. »

This statement is factually inaccurate.
At the request of the production team, PocketDol Studio allowed its artists and trainees to participate in “PROJECT 7”. Among them, BAE173's J-Min (Jeon Minwook) and trainee Sakurada Kenshin were selected for the final group. After the members participated, we signed a contract with the production team that explicitly allowed dual activities if they were selected for the final group.

The contract for participation in “PROJECT 7” specifically provided for exceptions for activities already agreed upon before signing, provided they were disclosed to the production team.

Additionally, the contract stipulated that participants had to prioritize group project activities for 36 months, but if there were pre-existing contractual obligations, these had to be disclosed to the management company and schedules had to be adjusted to avoid conflicts.

-

This arrangement was recognized by both the production team and the participating artists. As a result, we shared BAE173's planned album releases and overseas tour plans with the production team to coordinate schedules.

However, after the artist roster was finalized, the production team sent UNCORE a new management contract prohibiting dual activities. As the contract required many revisions, we were unable to sign the management contract and J-Min and Kenshin continued to work overseas as members of the winning group of “PROJECT 7” without this agreement.

Amid these developments, UNCORE cut off communication with us, blocked our access to the artists, and refused to disclose the location of their dormitory. Despite repeated attempts to confirm their whereabouts, our requests were continually ignored. The situation escalated to the point that we filed a missing person's report for both members on January 8 to ensure their safety, especially since Kenshin is a minor and in our custody, as we are his legal guardian in Korea.

When law enforcement intervened, UNCORE lied to police by claiming that the two artists were with their parents. Only after police contacted the parents to verify their statement did UNCORE admit that the artists were in a rehearsal room, further damaging the trust.

In their statement, UNCORE said: “We will not turn a blind eye to the selfish actions of any particular agency and will take all necessary legal action against their intentional interference with the group's activities, which constitutes a breach of contract, an unfair competition and illegal actions. »

We urge UNCORE to reconsider who is actually engaging in obstructive behavior. The one who changed his words was “PROJECT 7”: While “PROJECT 7” initially encouraged participation by ensuring that he would be allowed to do double activity, they changed their position once the group's decision was final.

If this matter remains unresolved, we are prepared to disclose relevant contracts, correspondence and emails to support our allegations.

We strongly condemn the actions of “PROJECT 7” and UNCORE and will take all necessary legal measures to resolve this issue.

Merci. »
