The New Year’s reception is organized each year with pomp at the Grand Ducal Palace. Guests are invited to wear their distinctions in the most formal form, starting with the grand ducal couple and the heir couple. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a floral Oscar de la Renta dress, worn a few months earlier to attend a concert in Brussels during the state visit of Luxembourg sovereigns to Belgium. This Wednesday evening, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa also wore one of her favorite jewels, the Belgian scrolled tiara.
