With Made in France (our opinion), offered by France 2 and already available free of charge on France.tv, this Wednesday January 15, 2025, the channel brings together Cécile Bois and Thierry Neuvic for the first time. A couple of mechanics on screen, they are cut down by adultery after thirty years of marriage. The one responsible for the scandal is none other than a dream creature, played by Antonia Desplat, a young executive in a large French house specializing in luxury leather goods. On set last spring, the trio’s complicity was obvious. The opportunity to ask Thierry Neuvic, recently featured in The Recruithow did he experience this adventure?
Made in France : Thierry Neuvic has “was raised by independent female heads of household “
Télé-Loisirs: Between Cécile Bois and Antonia Desplat, didn’t you feel a little alone?
Thierry Neuvic : You can’t imagine! Especially since, throughout the filming, they told each other in front of me that they would end up together! Faced with this trio of women – because we must not forget the director Mathilde Vallet – I looked like the bastard of the story! (he laughs) More seriously, what I like in this scenario is that beyond the rivalries, anger and disappointments, there is a lot of love. It is thanks to him that unity is possible.
Made in France asks about the place of women in society, what are your feelings on this subject?
TN: As someone who was only raised by women who were heads of family and independent, I respect these paradigm shifts all the more because I have been experiencing them for a very long time. We must continue to protect women and question these principles inherited from the past.
Made in France : “The older we get, the more we learn to listen to ourselves and others”
On the theme mentioned, the eternal dilemma between private life and professional life. Have you fixed it yourself?
TN The older we get, the more we learn to listen to ourselves and others. Things are prioritized as obvious. It’s the emotion that takes precedence! Sometimes it’s work that wins, sometimes private life. It’s a balance to find, together, by talking with loved ones. Personally, I no longer make decisions on my own.
The series demonstrates that if love is a necessary condition for the longevity of a couple, it is not sufficient. What other element do you think is essential?
TN: It’s almost the same relationship as an adult with their child. You have to carry it high, even if it means it flies away. This requires listening and freedom which are the basis of all exchanges. Today, there is a lot of talk about questioning the relationship. Perhaps we need to deconstruct it to reinvent other schemes, with other virtues.
