Justin Baldoni accuses Ryan Reynolds of harassment because of Nicepool in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'

Fans aren't the only ones to assume that Nicepool, in Deadpool & Wolverineis dedicated to Justin Baldoni. The actor and director of Never Again also recognized himself in this openly feminist character, but who declares, in a cut scene that has gone viral, that his real motivation “is to launch a podcast that monetizes the women's struggle movement”.

Since the end of December, the one who presents himself as an ally of the feminist cause, which he supports in his podcast The Man Enoughis sued by Blake Lively. The actress accuses her of sexual harassment during the filming of Never Again and for launching a hate campaign against her when she denounced him in retaliation.

While waiting for the trial

As he prepares to face his former filming colleague in court, Justin Baldoni denies what he is accused of and, to do so, tries to prove that the harasser is… the complainant.

Thus, his lawyers are now asking Disney, the studio which produces the Deadpool franchise, to provide exchanges and documents relating to the character of Nicepool. They request all “communications related to the development, writing and filming of the plot and scenes in which” the role appears, specifies People.

Nicepool is played by Ryan Reynolds (who also plays Deadpool) in the superhero film he co-wrote. Blake Lively plays Ladypool, who Nicepool says is “gorgeous” even though “she just had a baby and you don't even see it.” Never Again was filmed between May 2023 and early 2024, with a break during the writers' and actors' strike in the United States. Blake Lively revealed that she gave birth to her fourth child in February 2023.
