Rebecca Loos, David Beckham’s supposed ex-mistress, comes out of silence after twenty-two years

The affair dates back to 2003. That year, the English press revealed that David Beckham would have been unfaithful to Victoria Beckham, by maintaining a relationship with her assistant, Rebecca Loos. Twenty-two years later, the main person concerned confirms this information again. In an interview for the Spanish newspaper The World Rebecca Loos explains that this period was very difficult for her.

At 25, the young woman was hired by the Beckham family, who had just settled in Madrid, since the famous British footballer was starting his contract with Real Madrid. “My job was to take care of Victoria, to show her Madrid, to take her shopping,” says Rebecca Loos. “We had to make sure that the city would please her, that she would benefit from it. It was difficult to work for them because everyone needed me. She then says that her first meeting with David Beckham would have taken place in a restaurant belonging to Javier Bardem’s family. On the journey, Victoria Beckham’s husband would have remained hidden in the trunk of Rebecca Loos’ car so that no one could see him.

Media pressure

When the media took up the matter, Rebecca Loos did not deny the assertions made by the press. But the media pressure is difficult to manage, says the woman who has now gone into exile in Norway. “It was brutal,” she explains in the columns of The World. “In one show, a man named Kiko Matamoros came to say that he knew me, that I was a prostitute. I had never dealt with him. Another man claimed to have been with me on Ronaldo’s yacht in Brazil, where he said I slept with all the footballers. I have never been to Brazil. My parents recorded everything on VHS, they suffered.”

As she became the center of attention in the English and Spanish press, Rebecca Loos thought for a time of fleeing to Australia. But that was without counting on her strength of character since she ultimately decides to stay to defend herself. “The fighter in me came out and I defended myself on a television show in England,” she explains to the Spanish newspaper. “Then I went to another program, then another. It snowballed. I ended up doing reality TV shows.” It was on one of these shows that she met her husband, doctor Sven Christjar Skaiaa, with whom she gave birth to two children, Liam and Magnus. Having become a yoga teacher, Rebecca Loos now lives in Norway with her family.
