Guillaume Canet, in love with Marion Cotillard since 2007, spoke about the media treatment of their relationship. “Like all couples, we go through periods that the celebrity press has not stopped highlighting. It’s not necessarily always in good times, sometimes they are four or five months late and arrive with impossible stories, lending us relationships with others…” reported the 51-year-old French actor in the “Legend” podcast.
He recounted an episode which illustrates his reaction when the limits are greatly exceeded: fourteen years ago, a paparazzi climbed the wall of his house to take photos of his baby who had just been born. “It goes far, because I’m going crazy, I’m seeing red. It gets into a fight and you end up with the police the day your son is born, you don’t want that,” he explained.
Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard have two children: a boy, Marcel, on May 19, 2011 and a girl, Louise, on March 10, 2017.
The director of “Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom” is starring in “Ad vitam”, a thriller produced, co-written and performed by the actor released online on Netflix on January 10.
