This evening, and until Thursday, viewers will be able to see the reactions of the candidates when the host Jean-Philippe Dion as well as the director of the Academy, Garou, and the professors Véronic DiCaire, Pierre Lapointe and Émily Bégin went to surprise to tell them the news.
We will also be able to find out which of the 18 candidates will go directly to the Academy since four young artists will have earned this pass during these 30-minute programs presented from 7:30 p.m. on the TVA network.
Varieties
After these four episodes, we will get down to business since this is the first Variety of the season, presented live on Sunday evening, which will determine the identity of the new cohort.
Let’s say straight away that we will see the 18 candidates in the running on stage. We already know that four of them have been preselected so there will remain ten places available, which will already eliminate four candidates.
According to what has been revealed, all the Academy contenders will take part in a medley opening which will give a nod to previous editions in addition to delivering a tribute to Richard Desjardins and his work.
Among the guests of the evening, we will hear Isabelle Boulay, Éric Lapointe and Sara Dufour. And since we told you that the production team wanted to salute the cohorts of the past, Mélissa Bédard, finalist of the 2012 vintage, and Marc-André Fortin, winner of the 2005 edition, will be there.
We will also discover the theme song of Star Ac 2025 which, during each edition, is chanted from all the stands.
These Sunday high masses will be hosted by Jean-Philippe Dion. Several renowned artists are expected there this season, including James Bay, Gregory Charles, Claude Dubois, Marc Dupré, Matt Lang, Souldia, Nate Smith, Natacha St-Pierre, Marie-Ève Janvier and Jean-François Breau.
Public vote
As is the case in all vintages of Star Academythe public has a say in the selection of academicians.
The 14 candidates will have to put themselves in danger in order to win their place and the public will be asked to vote for their favorites. Unfortunately, at the end of this first gala evening, four candidates will return home while the 14 chosen ones will board the bus which will take them to the Academy.
The dailies
The public will be able to follow the adventures of the academicians during daily broadcasts which will take place from Monday to Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., on TVA.
Some new features will be added this season, including the award of the Star of the Week title to the person who has worked the best, which will give the right to “privileges”.
Also, each week, members of the Academy will be designated to take the Audition of the week in front of Garou, the director of the Academy. The best performance will give the right to participate in a duet with the guest artist from Variété du Dimanche.
Finally, the endangered classics are back as over the weeks, the girls and boys will have to defend their place at the Academy, which will allow half of the group to have a break, every other week .
A week at the Academy
The week will be busy as it begins on Mondays with a meeting with Director Garou where we will return to the Sunday Variety in addition to knowing the theme of the week.
Tuesdays will be the opportunity to take dance and sports classes with Émily Bégin. This will also be the time to reveal the names of the candidates in danger.
Music lessons with Pierre Lapointe will take place on Wednesdays, as will the weekly Audition.
And finally, on Thursdays, Véronic DiCaire will give her singing clinic and prepare the candidates in danger.
In addition, guest artist directors Mel Charlot and Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais will join the artistic team composed of Joël Legendre (stage director), Antoine Gratton (musical director), Marie-Eve Riverin (vocal director) and Maud St-Germain (choreographer).
