Alain Chamfort remained discreet for a very long time about the illness from which he suffered. The interpreter of Aviation was actually diagnosed with bone cancer in 2015.”I’m completely cured, it’s a thing of the past. I didn’t want to talk about it before.”he confided to Tele-Leisure last April. He also explained the reasons for his silence around his illness. “I didn’t want to attract compassion. I never really understood the fact that it could help others,” he explained. The singer released his latest album L’Impermanencein which Jean-Jacques Goldman refused to participate, in March 2024. He has already confided that it would be his last opus. He defends it on stage with his tour Musical conversation: the best of myself. Alain Chamfort has had problems with his vertebrae since his cancer
The latter inquired about the singer’s state of health, a few months after the announcement of the remission of his bone cancer. “I feel different from before and a little more fragile. First of all, because there are after-effects. I actually have problems in my back, the vertebrae have been affected a little and I feel pain in my fingers. But hey: at the same time, I don’t let myself go. So I now do a little sport, I continue to have projects and not let myself be dominated by these little pains. I’m certainly less alert than before, but that’s it.“, recognizes Alain Chamfort. As for the end of his career, Lio’s ex is reassuring. If he will no longer make albums, he hopes to record other titles. “For years now, record companies have been crying, saying that things are working less and less. On the other hand, there is a development of all streaming and download platforms. (…) For me, it’s the last but that doesn’t mean, however, that I won’t record anymore“, he says.
At 75, the singer joins a famous troupe
At 75 years old, Alain Chamfort is also among the artists who will join Les Enfoirés on stage for their next dates in Montpellier, from January 14 to 20. He will be alongside Pierre Garnier, the winner of the Star Academyby Joseph Kamel, the author of their new anthem The world tomorrowby Jain, by trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, or by François-Xavier Demaison.
