Since the dissolution of the National Assembly last May and the censorship voted by the oppositions, Emmanuel Macron seems more affected by criticism. On the TF1 set, Wednesday January 8, Brigitte Macron spoke about her husband’s state of mind. “He’s bruised.”she said. And to add that “Sometimes what he hears touches him deeply, even if he doesn’t say it. But if there’s one thing Emmanuel deserves, it’s respect.”. Despite the difficulties, the first lady assures that her husband thought carefully before dissolving the Assembly. Invited on RTL this Friday January 10, 2025, she specified: “He kept me informed, I know who and how he consulted.” According to her, this decision was not taken lightly since she clarified: “Obviously, those who were not informed are not happy, but I can promise you that he consulted. After a while, a decision had to be made.” In this process, the president’s wife explained to Amandine Bégot that she remained faithful to her role: “I never intervene.”
Asked about the political future of Emmanuel Macron, the first lady was keen to dismiss rumors of an alleged premature departure. “There is no reason not to follow through. These ideas have no basis,” assured Brigitte Macron. Concerning the post-Elysée, in 2027, she questioned the possibility of a definitive withdrawal from political life. “Can we really stop politics? Those I know have never sorted this out in their heads.”she confided, leaving uncertainty surrounding her husband’s future intentions. However, she hopes that the former investment banker will take a break after the end of his mandate… “I would like him to stop working a little, he works all the time,” she regretted.
Emmanuel Macron, towards a new path in 2027?
She believes that this “decompression airlock” will be essential to recovering from the intensity of power and reorienting ourselves. “He has already written a lot, perhaps one day he will be published. I don’t yet know what direction he will take, but I’m sure he will find a new path.”added the first lady. These confidences from Brigitte Macron come in a particular context since last January 8 took place the annual launch of the Yellow Pieces operation, of which she is president. The event, marked by her humanitarian commitment, illustrates the importance she attaches to her role as first lady and her unwavering support for Emmanuel Macron, both publicly and privately. Brigitte Macron will, in particular, be on the set of 12 shots of noon by Jean-Luc Reichmann from Monday January 13 to promote the Yellow Pieces operation.
