Anne Dorval finds herself where no one expected her, namely in the seat of one of the judges of What talent!the Quebec adaptation of the international franchise Got Talent. And thanks to her “little Paul”, she is also experiencing a wonderful personal adventure.

Anne, the filming of the show What talent! are they finished?

No. The bulk of the filming took place in July and August, and there will be about two more days in September. Then the finale will take place live, in November.

How have you found the experience so far?

Honestly, we had a lot of fun. I had already met Rachid Badouri once or twice. I didn’t know Marie-Mai. I’ve known Serge Denoncourt for a long time. Even though we come from completely different backgrounds, a chemistry developed between us all. Then, I had never really worked in variety either. We have very different personalities, but each judge found their place. I arrived with some of my fears, that is to say a fear of hurting, sometimes. But no one tried to tamper with their personality or borrow a character. Everything was really very pleasant. The filming takes place at the Monument-National, a magnificent place in itself and a theater venue above all, where I feel good.

Does Anne Dorval have other projects she can talk about?

Yes! From October 19, I am reprising a play at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde: I am writing to you in the middle of a beautiful storm. A tour throughout Quebec will follow. I also have a film project for next year, but I can’t talk about it.

Is this a Quebec film or an international production?

We’re talking about a Quebec and French film that will take place there. I also have other projects in the theater, but for later.

What is the life of Anne Dorval, the woman, like?

She is doing very well! I look after my grandson, Paul, my daughter Alice’s son, as often as possible.

How old is he?

Two and a half years.

Is the role of grandmother another of your golden roles?

It’s wonderful in my life! He’s adorable, we love each other, we cook together.

Paul cooks with you at this age?

Oh, yes! But he is very tall for his age. At his daycare, he is a head taller than everyone else; he is the tallest. He loves to eat, he loves to discover. He is a little curious, I love that! He and I go to the Jean-Talon Market to do our shopping, we go to the Botanical Garden… Soon, I will look after him for a whole weekend.

Do you have any activities planned for this weekend?

Yes. He and I are going to, among other things, prepare tomato sauce and bake cakes.

What a talent!, Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m., on Noovo. Le temps des framboises (season 2), Wednesday at 8 p.m., on TVA. Je t’écris au milieu d’un beau orage will be presented from October 19 to 27 at the TNM. Info: tnm.qc.ca. Splendeur et influence is available on Tou.tv Extra.
