“I have never…”: A French singer opposes Kanye West and pulls the rug out from under him

These two artists, who a priori have nothing in common, have been talking a lot about them in recent hours, because they are reportedly preparing a piece together. Indeed, in a video that has gone viral on social networks, and in particular Bully.

A title in which his voice combines, a powerful production, and above all the melody as well as the vocal flights of the title Sun Sun by Pomme, from his album The Rifts published in 2019. Many Internet users then assumed that the two artists agreed to compose this piece.

Apple’s very clear response

But this is not the case, as Apple explained via its Instagram account this Monday, January 6: “I would like to clarify a situation regarding a potential use of my song Soleil Soleil, on Kanye West’s next project. I do not know the source of the video and audio content circulating these days on the networks, but I never gave my agreement to the use of this sample for reasons that seem obvious to me, being in deep disagreement with the positions and policies of this artist (notably accused ofanti-Semitismeditor’s note) whom I have admired greatly in the past.

“CIt’s sometimes difficult to give up on certain opportunities but I prefer to respect my deep values“, concluded the one who had seen her album in 2020 The Rifts being named revelation album of the year at the Victoires de la Musique. There will therefore be no collaboration between Kanye West – an impressive $35 million house – and Apple!
