Jean-Pierre Foucault and Miss , soon the end?

But on this galette des rois day, French media columnist Clément Garin is back at it again: he announces that Jean-Pierre Foucault will no longer host the competition in December 2026, but he will remain in the election system by endorsing the role of honorary president of the jury, a function that Alain Delon had notably carried out.

Thirty years

If the information is confirmed – we must be careful with the information coming from Clément Garin, some of which turns out to be false – an important page in the competition is turning. Indeed, Jean-Pierre Foucault has presented it continuously since 1995, the year the competition was broadcast for the first time on TF1, which snatched the rights from 3. He had also been in the spotlight last December to salute its 30 years of presentation, with a spectacular entrance on stage to the sound of Daddy Cool by Boney M and the presence on the stage of former Miss France, including Laure Belleville, Miss France 1996.

According to Garin, there was even talk of announcing his departure at that time, but the host refused.

“He didn’t want the concept of Miss to be distorted, and for it to become Jean-Pierre’s last night. He didn’t want a tribute, he wanted to serve the program until the end, and leave with dignity without no artifice”, indicates an anonymous source to the specialist.

If the question of his replacement is not yet on the agenda, hypotheses are rife: the names of Nikos Aliagas (who nevertheless has a busy schedule) or Camille Combal (who succeeded Jean-Pierre Foucault in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?) are very often cited.

Questioned numerous times on the subject, Jean-Pierre Foucault has often suggested that a woman replace him. In 2022, it even indicated: “And why not a woman who knows the workings of it perfectly”, opening the door to the candidacy of a former miss. We will remember that Sophie Thalmann, elected Miss France 1998, made her mark in the competition by responding straight to Jean-Pierre Foucault who asked her the purpose of her studies in the audiovisual field: “To take your place.”
