He struck again. Youssef En-Nesyri continues his excellent season with Fenerbahçe, proving his importance within José Mourinho’s squad.
Indeed, during the 18th day of the Süper Lig, he played a decisive role in his team’s victory against Hatayspor (2-1). The Moroccan international scored Fenerbahçe’s two goals in the 16th and 45th +3 minutes, giving his team a crucial lead before the break. Hatayspor reduced the gap with a goal scored in the 33rd minute, but it was not enough to turn the situation around.
With this performance, the Moroccan striker brings his total goals this season to 11, including 8 in the league and 3 in the Europa League. These figures confirm his status as a centerpiece in the Fenerbahçe squad.
Furthermore, Mourinho did not fail to highlight the work carried out by the Moroccan. “We worked hard, improved some aspects and tried to add new ideas like relying on the Dzeko-En Nesyri duo. We didn’t have many chances to try this before because Youssef wasn’t with us at the start of the season,” he declared.
En-Nesyri’s talent is attracting attention beyond Turkey. Fenerbahçe finds itself faced with a dilemma: resist or accept a substantial offer from the Saudi club Al-Nassr, which is seeking to recruit him during the winter transfer window.
This double once again underlines the importance of En-Nesyri for his team and suggests a promising rest of the season, whether in Türkiye or elsewhere. Despite the pressure of a high-stakes transfer, he quickly established himself as one of the league’s top scorers.
As a reminder, Youssef En-Nesyri joined Fenerbahçe last summer from Sevilla FC, and is linked to the Turkish club by a contract running until the summer of 2029.
