who is this “Mufasa” actor going viral on social media?

Starring in “Mufasa: The Lion King”, Aaron Pierre has sparked excitement on social networks for his striking roles, but above all his attractive physique.

A talent to follow. Earlier this week, Aaron Pierre made a splash on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” by participating in the famous “tunnel dance,” a tradition where guests dance through a hedge of cheers before taking the stage. The video of his appearance, shared on the show’s YouTube channel, quickly went viral on social networks, where the actor has attracted the attention of Internet users for several months. But who really is Aaron Pierre, this actor that everyone is raving about?

A passion for theater

Born on June 7, 1994 in London (United Kingdom), Aaron Pierre grew up in a family of Jamaican, Curacian and Sierra Leonean origin. A child with a passion for sprinting, he developed an appetite for theater as a teenager, even joining a troupe of young actors. Graduating from the Academy of and Dramatic in 2016, the star began his career on the small screen in a few episodes of the soap operas “The A Word” and “Britannia”.

His first significant role comes with “Krypton”, a series inspired by the DC universe, where he plays Dev-Em on the native planet of Superman. At the same time, he also distinguished himself in the theater in the play “Othello”, for which he was nominated for the Ian Charleson Prize. Barry Jenkins, the Oscar-winning director of “Moonlight”, notices his talent and offers him the role of Caesar in the mini-series “The Underground Railroad”, broadcast on Prime Video in 2021.

After his film debut in “Old” by M. Night Shyamalan, Aaron Pierre impresses in the series “Rebel Ridge” by Jeremy Saulnier, broadcast on Netflix. In this thriller, he plays a former Marine caught up in a local conspiracy, a role originally intended for John Boyega. “I don’t want to sound desperate, but I really felt like we needed each other at that moment. In the way he introduced himself, his immediate involvement, his interest in all the details of this project… It gave me energy. (…) Now, we could no longer imagine another actor in this role than Aaron Pierre,” declared the director.

The king of the big screen

As he continues his rise, the actor has been regularly acclaimed by Internet users to play Scar in a possible adaptation of the famous “Lion King“, thanks to his feline and captivating gaze. Hollywood seems to have grasped part of the idea, since he was chosen to lend his voice to young Mufasa in the prequel released on December 18, 2014 in French theaters, alongside Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy.

At the film’s premiere in Los Angeles in December, his family also caused a stir online. “They look like rich, sexy vampires,” one user commented under a video from The Shade Room account, while another wrote: “The parental genetic combination is so perfect it’s crazy! Her brothers and sisters are so beautiful!”

After playing Malcolm X in the anthology series “Genius”, Aaron Pierre is expected in two major superhero universes. He will play John Stewart / Green Lantern in the series “Lanterns” on HBO Max, and will participate in the adaptation of “Blade” within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
