these Disneyland attractions will be closed during certain periods of 2025

The magic of Disneyland sometimes falters in the face of maintenance requirements. A wind of renovation will blow through the park in 2025, disrupting visitors' plans. Key attractions will close their doors in January, changing the usual appearance of Mickey's Kingdom. The most emblematic of them, Big Thunder Mountainwill stop for six months.

A titanic construction site in Frontierland

The face of Frontierland will be transformed on January 5, 2025. The characteristic roars of Big Thunder Mountain will fade away to give way to the sounds of construction. The ocher earth mountains and their sharp peaks, which have dominated the landscape since 1992, will wait for summer to find their passengers. The renovation attacks the innards of the behemoth: rails, security systems, decorations, everything will pass into the hands of the technical teams. This facelift is accompanied by other upheavals in the western district: the Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing drops anchor for an indefinite period, while the Frontierland Playground remains inaccessible until February.

The waltz of closures also affects family attractions

The year is off to a flying start for the maintenance teams. It’s a Small Worldfresh from an 18-month renovation, returns behind the scenes on January 20. The 300 automaton dolls will temporarily cease their worldwide tour, leaving Fantasyland without one of its most unifying attractions. THE Land of Fairy Tales et Casey Jr will close briefly in early January, while the Aladdin's Enchanted Passage will plunge into darkness until January 17.

The Walt Disney Studios park is not immune to this wave of renovations. Studio 1, the main artery of the park, continues its metamorphosis until spring 2025. The shops and the Backstage Restaurant remain inaccessible for the duration of the work. The technical teams are also tackling the floors of Production Courtyard and Toon Studio, work which will last until the end of the year.

These closures are part of a broader modernization plan. Disneyland Paris is preparing for its 35th anniversary in 2027, a deadline that pushes the park to rejuvenate its historic attractions. This makeover follows a global trend: all Disney parks are modernizing their facilities, merging nostalgia and technological innovations. Visitors in 2025 will therefore have to juggle this hectic schedule, perhaps favoring a summer visit, when most attractions will have regained their splendor.

But Marvel Avengers Campus is open!

For the most impatient, an alternative emerges: the World of Marvel et Avengers Campusrecent areas of the park, are operating normally. These immersive spaces, inaugurated in recent years, partially compensate for the closures of classic attractions. The Iron Man roller coaster and the Guardians of the Galaxy show promise their daily dose of adrenaline to thrill-seekers deprived of Big Thunder Mountain.
