During the last bonus of the Star Academyall the former students returned to the set of the show, delighting the candidates still in competition. At the end of the evening, the public chose Emma to join her comrades on the big tour. A moment rich in emotions, both for the singer and for all the students. Back at the castle, the academicians continued with a new week of intensive rehearsals. The competition takes place more and more harshsince there are only six students left in the running. Moreover, Michael Goldman announced to them that there would be no more immune people until the end of the season. “You are at a level where we're getting closer to the semi-finals and it is a level in which now it must be the public who chooses and the evaluations in a frank manner, and there you go, we want to stop the immunities“, he explained.
A petition launched to protect Ebony
On social networks, viewers give their voice to support their favorite candidates. But others show themselves as hateful towards students they do not support, especially towards Ebony. Monday December 23, a petition entitled “Stop trivialized racism against Ebony, Star Academy 2024/2025 candidate” was therefore launched by certain Internet users. “We urge SOS Racisme, TF1, Endemol, and Mathieu Vergne [ndlr le producteur de l’émission] to take concrete and penal measures to condemn and arrest any individual participating, by any means whatsoever, in this unjustified hatred“, it is specified in this petition created to protect the academician.
The official response from production and TF1
A few hours later, the production of the Star Academy and TF1 published a press release intended to calm the spirits. “Important reminder. Some hateful comments are circulating on social networks against Star Academy students. These attacks on these young artists who share their passion and live their dream are unacceptable and punishable by law“, we can read.
“You love Star Academy for the kindness that emerges from it, the solidarity and cohesion that characterize the show. It is in this spirit that we invite you to convey these same values in your exchanges on social networks. TF1 and Endemol France will report any hate campaign against candidates and reserve the right to initiate any legal action“, it is also written. A press release which was relayed by several teachers and by students eliminated from the Star Academy.
