Jude Law revealed on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast that he had reservations about the Christmas classic The Holiday. This was due to a small detail but one that seems important to the actor.

In Nancy Meyers' romantic comedy, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz play two single people who swap homes for the holidays. Iris (Kate Winslet) moves to Los Angeles while Amanda (Cameron Diaz) settles down in her picturesque English cottage.
Jude Law, who plays Graham, Iris's brother and Amanda's love interest, admitted on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast that he asked Nancy Meyers to change her character's first name because it didn't like him.
“My only big problem was Graham’s first name. Sorry to everyone named Graham, but in the UK Graham is a bit…,” he said, not finishing his sentence for fear of offending people with that first name.
“I was like, 'Can we call him Jack or John?' And Nancy really wanted Graham. Because you see, at least in the United States you (pronounce it) 'Gram,' but in England we call it 'Gray-um,'” he said.
Reflecting on the film's longevity, the Talented Mr. Ripley star said he suspected the film would do well when it was released in theaters, but he didn't imagine it would still be a holiday favorite eighteen years later.
“Nancy Meyers, the director, has a very keen and meticulous eye for creating these charming, sweet but not saccharine films. They are satisfying, from the aesthetics to the dialogue. There's just enough humor, a little romance, they're clever, but she goes about it with real attention to detail. So you hope this movie will be a success when it comes out, but you don't think it will become a classic for decades to come. A Christmas classic… (it's) so popular and people make it part of their Christmas, it's a lovely thing,” said Jude Law.
