After a year of sobriety, Jean-Marie Bigard admits to having plunged back into alcohol

Jean-Marie Bigard continues to fight against alcoholism and, as with any addiction disease, the road is long and not without pitfalls. The comedian recently admitted on the set of Jordan De Luxe on C8 that he had fallen back into drinking after “a year without drinking a drop of alcohol”.

He had in fact declared in January 2023 on the set of Don't touch my post that he had not been drinking for several months for health reasons. However, recovering from an addiction is far from simple.

“I went a year without drinking a drop of alcohol and then I said to myself: ‘I can’t imagine a meal without drinking wine,’” he confided. “I said to myself: 'I'm going to do what one should never do', that is to say, I drank a glass of wine at lunchtime and a glass of wine in the evening, to have the taste of wine in my mouth. »

A temptation which marked the start of a new relapse: “It worked for a few months, then it went wrong and my quantities started to increase again”.

“One drink is too much”

The comedian had, however, been warned by a friend, who had also suffered from this addiction in the past. “My friend Renaud, the singer, one day spoke to me about this and said: 'My wife told me if you want you can have another drink at the table.' And he replied: “One drink is too much and twelve is not enough.” That’s exactly what being an alcoholic is,” he explained.

The actor nevertheless remains determined to get through it, particularly in the interest of his wife, the actress of More beautiful life, even more beautiful Lola Marois. “I’m in the process…” he replied when the host asked him where he was in his fight.

“I left until January 2,” he said. “I decided this four days ago, I knew it would be the best gift I could give Lola. I told her, “Honey, I’m quitting until January 2.”

The comedian would not have even bowed to the 42-year-old actress' suggestions for flexibility during the end-of-year holidays. “I told him: 'The big holidays where everyone toasts, I spend them. On January 2, I drink another glass of wine and I resume my journey slowly, as slowly as possible'”.

Jean-Marie Bigard, who will continue touring his show I Stop Bullshit from January until the spring, confided that he had several health problems, including a stroke.
