Émilie Dequenne announces good news after the recurrence of her cancer

Suffering from a rare cancer since 2023, Émilie Dequenne announced the relapse of her illness a few weeks ago. This Friday, December 20, the Belgian actress gave her news on her Instagram account.

Since 2023, Émilie Dequenne has been fighting against a rare and very aggressive cancer, adrenocorticaloma which affects the adrenal gland. After announcing that she was in remission last April following an operation, she explained that her cancer was returning on the TF1 show Seven to Eight from December 1st. “There is a part of my cancer that responds, another that does not respond, or even progresses. The part that progresses is greater than the part that reduces.”she explained. She clarified with despair that she would have to undergo chemotherapy again and stay in the hospital again.

Émilie Dequenne is back home for the end of year celebrations

Despite this relapse, Émilie tries to see the positive every day, especially during this holiday season. This Friday, December 20, the Belgian actress, memorable in her role as Rosetta in the eponymous film by the Dardenne brothers, took to her Instagram account to announce good news. “Me ? Happy to go home after a week in hospital? Nooooooooo. Happy to find my menagerie? Naaaaan. Long live the little joys”she wrote in the caption of the post, not without a touch of humor. It is obvious that Michel Ferracci's wife is very happy to return home after a stay in hospital. It is with a big smile that she appears in this photo that she published, alongside the family dog, Bozo.

Émilie Dequenne was not informed of the loss of a role due to the recurrence of her illness

“I no longer work”Émilie Dequenne had frankly announced to Audrey-Crespo-Mara, still in Seven to Eight. Indeed, the announcement of his cancer did not bring him much goodwill from the world of cinema. During the interview, she said that she was to be one of the headliners of a film, without revealing the title or the director. However, the return of her cancer forced her to keep the director informed of her state of health before filming began. Mila's mother explained to her that “this really won’t be possible”. Having learned this sad news, the director still offered him a small role, which gave him “would be nice”according to what the actress reported. However, this did not go as planned. “Time passes and it was while surfing the net that I discovered that I had been replaced and that I had not been informed. I have to scare the productions, the directors”blurted Émilie Dequenne before concluding on a pessimistic note: “I had plans, I think they were either aborted or postponed.”
